Job Title: Quality Officer
Job Overview: As a Quality Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all products or services meet the established quality standards and customer expectations. You will work closely with various teams within the organization to implement and maintain quality control processes, perform inspections and audits, identify areas for improvement, and facilitate continuous quality improvement initiatives. Your role is crucial in upholding the company's reputation for delivering high-quality products or services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control Processes:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Review and evaluate existing quality control practices and recommend improvements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify deviations from quality standards and initiate corrective actions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality manuals, and inspection reports.
- Compile and analyze quality data to generate reports and metrics on quality performance.
- Communicate quality issues and trends to relevant stakeholders and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Supplier Quality Management:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to establish quality requirements for suppliers and conduct supplier evaluations.
- Conduct audits and inspections of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Address supplier-related quality issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in quality control processes, product/service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, such as root cause analysis, process optimization, and the implementation of quality improvement projects.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and excellence across the organization.
- Training and Compliance:
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality control processes, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure that employees are aware of and adhere to quality-related policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with Bulk Earthworks and Civil
- Previous experience working on an Eskom site
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., quality management, engineering, or a related discipline).
- Proven experience in quality assurance/control, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
- Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and their implementation.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.
