Overview
Hire Resolve is seeking a Production Engineer for our client in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise, operational understanding, and soft skills to excel in the blow moulding industry. The Production Engineer will lead a team of setters responsible for maintaining and setting up blow moulding equipment and ancillary devices (conveyors, cameras, collating tables, leak testers, and mixing equipment) to produce plastic containers as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.

Responsibilities:
Ensure all employees wear required Personal Protective Equipment and execute tasks safely. Ensure all production equipment and processes comply with safety standards and regulations. Supervise blow moulding tool maintenance and setup processes, ensuring quality work is done safely and efficiently. Supervise the setup of ancillary equipment, ensuring quality work is done safely and efficiently. Diagnose problems in tool maintenance and setup processes, providing recommendations and training. Train senior and junior setters on the principles of tool setting. Measure and optimize the tool changeover process. Investigate and troubleshoot problems within the tool setup processes and blow moulding machinery and operations. Set and achieve performance targets for the technical setter’s team. Maintain and calibrate technical equipment to ensure optimum performance. Maintain and/or create tool and part drawings for all products in the Greif Apply discipline procedures when behaviors are not in line with prescribed maintenance protocols. Perform monthly performance reviews on team reporting to the production engineer. Create purchase requisitions and determine the need for overtime. Approve and decline leave for subordinates and assign/manage the standby roster. Receive stock from vendors and sign off delivery notes and invoices. Update and approve product drawings, mould drawings, and type test documents.
Requirements:
Degree in engineering (Mechanical / Industrial Engineering). Minimum 5 years of experience in the HDPE Blow Moulding Industry. Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia, Solid Edge) for documenting tool and product drawings. Computer literate (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and proficient in SPC and Automated QC Data recording tools. Training in Blow Moulding fundamentals, Leadership Fundamentals, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis. Deep understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and blow moulding machinery and equipment operation. Proven problem-solving and project management skills for overseeing projects from conception to completion. Process optimization to maximize efficiency and minimize waste, with high-quality standards for maintenance of blow moulding tools and equipment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong leadership abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Knowledge of Six Sigma, MOS core principles, and other advanced manufacturing and design methodologies.
