You will need to have an excellent knowledge of the Taxation legislation as well as the ability to practically apply this knowledge.
Responsibilities
Managing and controlling workflow in tax department and dealing with staff issues. Managing CPD of entire Tax team. Prepare and follow up on fee proposals to clients. Prepare and Manage Tax Department Budget. Perform new client take on and meetings. Consulting with clients. Debtors' management Upkeeping of tax database. Prepare Opex report monthly. Prepare for and lead tax audits. Attending to various registrations - Income tax, VAT, PAYE, Customs (import and export), NPO, PBO, Turnover Tax, Estate Late, Bodies Corporates and Homeowners’ Associations etc. De-registrations and Registrations of - Income Tax, VAT, PAYE. Manage request for dormant companies. Preparation of tax computations for individuals and trusts. Application for various tax directives. Preparation and requesting of relevant supporting documents required including attending to mandatory SARS appointment. Preparation and requesting of relevant supporting documents to appoint or update the public officer. Attending to various SARS correspondence/queries/verifications. Manage SARS applications relating to when a individual has ceased to be a SA tax resident, attending to SARS’ queries and calculation of possible deemed CGT. Assistance and preparation of foreign tax clearances.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance Minimum 10 Years experience in a Tax Department at least 5 years as a Tax Manager. Strong communication and analytical skills Ability to communicate and work with clients. Ability to learn different systems. Accounting background advantageous. Requirements

Registered Tax Practitioner with SARS and a recognised controlling body Experience handling a portfolio of clients of approximately in a tax/compliance department. Working knowledge of SARS e-filing website
