Principal Consultant – Onshore Renewables
Location: Remote, Hybrid or Office based
Our client:
The Principal Consultant will be responsible for prospecting, developing, and converting consultancy assignment opportunities. Subsequently, the Principal Consultant will work on and manage consultancy assignments for a range of onshore renewable projects. S/he will manage the teams of multi-disciplined engineers or consultants to deliver our scope of
work and achieve financial targets. The Principal Consultant will join the management team, sharing responsibility for meeting ambitious business growth objectives. This will allow the successful candidate to shape the future of the engineering team and function within a growing and ambitious company.
Your Profile:
At least 8 to 10 years of experience
working in the utility-scale renewable energy market as a developer,
contractor, engineer, or consultant.
A successful track record of managing a
team of multidiscipline engineers or consultants.
Experience working in a site environment.
Multidisciplined stakeholder management.
Project Management.
Expert in MS Office suite.
Capable of being an ambassador for the company's technical excellence and representing and promoting engineering
capabilities within the global Group.
Ability to coordinate, direct and lead projects and work under own initiative with minimum supervision.
Excellent technical knowledge and experience in onshore renewable projects.
Excellent report-writing skills.
Familiar with commercial and contractual issues and able to provide guidance to our clients.
Good sales and business development techniques.
Project-orientated with a keen interest in and knowledge of the offshore wind farm industry and project management.
Some project management experience and entrepreneurial spirit capable of growing and developing the team.
Being a leader, supportive, and a role model for the engineering and project group.
Experience in managing and developing a large team of engineers; being the coach and mentor of a multidisciplinary team.
Good interpersonal skills, a strong team player with a proactive approach.
Outgoing and pragmatic with a strength of character.
Attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy and the ability to prioritize work.
Well organized, self-directed & insightful.
Good English communication skills and excellent report-writing skills.
Qualified degree in Engineering (minimum NQF 7).
