Our continuing expansion has created an opportunity for a HGV Class 2 driver who is a very good, safe driver that has excellent communication and interpersonal abilities and the confidence to relate easily with customers, colleagues and suppliers.

*Main Responsibilities:*
- Prepare lorry/van for operation by inspecting general condition; checking fluid levels and tyre pressure; obtaining or scheduling required repairs.
- Loading and unloading lorries/vans.
- Deliver items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the lorry/van; unloading items; maintaining schedule in accordance with the customer’s requirements.
- Develops sales by reviewing standing orders; analysing sales; recommending changes and new products; taking and placing orders; calling on potential customers.
- Providing a quality service to our customers, understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints; adjusting orders.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of the company’s equipment for hire/sale.
- Supporting and communicating effectively with the office/yard team.
- Undertaking any other duties which arise within the job holders capabilities.
- Enhances organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
*Requirements:*
- Very good, safe driver
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure to set deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- A flexible attitude is a must.

In return we offer a competitive salary of between £30,000 to £32,000 depending on candidates’ experience. 20 days holiday excl. bank holidays and the option for overtime where it is available.
