Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
- Strong technical knowledge of Industrial Gear Unit design, operation, and application.
- Business development targeting key customers and key applications for planetary gearboxes.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical products.
- Understanding the OEM market and customers that utilize IGU gear units.
- Provide electro-mechanical product support to customers and BMG branches.
- Provide technical and product training to internal sales branch staff.
- Ability and willingness to travel nationally is a requirement.
- Coordinate market research, design, manufacturing, sales projections, budgets, promotional campaigns, etc.
- Responsible for identifying possible markets for new products.
- Evaluate and understand market-related pricing levels.
- Advise on contract pricing and special orders.
- Drive disciplined labor charge-out pricing practices.
- Follow competitive trends and activities.
- Product and application troubleshooting resolved by employing acquired skills and supported by technical supplier reference.
- Ensure outcomes are followed through professionally.
- Must be able to travel extensively (80% travel / 20% office – National & Africa).
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12, N6 Mechanical Engineering, B-Tech, or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous.
- Computer literate (MS Office - PowerPoint & Excel essential).
- 5 years external sales experience within the electro-mechanical environment, gears, or power transmission.
