Job Description
Our client is looking for a Commercial Manager (Commodities) to join their team in the Eastern Cape (remotely). Experience within Animal Feed Trading will be beneficial.
Key Performance Areas
- In co-operation with management and the procurement team, build and manage a multi-channel sales strategy for animal feed for the South African market, and neighbouring countries.
- Liaise with procurement team and suppliers to secure relevant stock.
- Build and manage an effective pricing strategy for the product basket.
- Canvass new clients and new products that will suit our sales offering.
- Build a portfolio of value-added products.
- Build and maintain existing and new client relationships successfully.
- Provide technical support to clients to ensure the building of strategic partnerships.
- Ensure all administration related to clients and products are accurately and timeously completed.
- Provide market analysis and monthly reporting.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 10 years experience in marketing a wide range of animal feed products to dairy farms, game farms and other relevant sales channels.
- Excellent technical knowledge on animal nutrition.
- Proven record of successfully building and managing relationships.
- Management experience.
- Computer literate.
- Understanding of management and reporting systems.
- Available to travel regularly.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
- Easily adaptable.
- Management skills.
- Strategic approach to sales and marketing.
- Problem solving skills.
- Effective time management.
Remuneration
Market related, depending on experience and qualifications.
