You will be instrumental in producing competitive bids, accurate cost estimates, and high-quality tender submissions for technically complex projects.
Estimator and Bid Coordinator - The Role:
Working closely with engineering, procurement, production, and commercial teams, you will be responsible for managing bid activities from initial enquiry through to tender submission.
Estimator and Bid Coordinator - Key Responsibilities:

Producing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical engineering solutions and bespoke manufactured equipment

Reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to define project scope and requirements

Coordinating the preparation and submission of bids, quotations, and supporting documentation

Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations

Collaborating with engineering teams to validate design assumptions and technical solutions

Maintaining pricing databases, estimating tools, and cost models

Managing tender programmes and ensuring all submissions are completed to deadline

Supporting commercial strategy through market insight, pricing analysis, and bid planning

Analysing tender outcomes and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Ensuring all proposals comply with client requirements, industry standards, and internal quality procedures
Estimator and Bid Coordinator - About You:
We are looking for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work confidently within a technical environment.
You Will Ideally Have:

Experience within estimating, bid coordination, proposals, tendering, or commercial support

Exposure to electrical engineering, manufacturing, switchgear, control systems, automation, or power infrastructure projects

The ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation

Strong analytical and numerical skills with a methodical approach to costing

Excellent written communication skills and document management abilities

Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP, MRP, or estimating systems

The ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Desirable Experience:

Protection and control systems

Substation, transmission, distribution, or utility-sector projects

LV or HV electrical equipment and assemblies

National Grid, DNO, renewable energy, or industrial power environments

Commercial analysis, risk assessment, and pricing strategy
