CNC Operator / Wood Machinist – Braintree – Full Time – £14–£17 per hour DOE
We are currently recruiting for a CNC Operator / Wood Machinist to join a well-established manufacturing business in Braintree, specialising in the production of high-quality timber doors and joinery products.
This is a hands-on workshop role combining CNC machine operation with basic wood assembly. The ideal candidate will have previous CNC experience and be confident using a range of woodworking machinery, alongside carrying out practical assembly work within a manufacturing environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for operating CNC machinery and other woodworking equipment to manufacture timber components, alongside supporting the assembly and preparation of finished wooden products.
Key Responsibilities
Setting and operating CNC machinery within a woodworking environment
Operating woodworking machinery, including cross saws, band saws, routers and table saws
Machining timber components to required specifications
Reading technical drawings and following job instructions
Carrying out basic wood assembly and fitting work
Using hand and power tools to assemble and finish products
Checking finished components for quality and accuracy
Maintaining a clean and organised workshop
The Ideal Candidate
Previous CNC operating experience
Experience working with wood, timber or joinery products
Experience using cross saws, band saws, routers and table saws
Basic wood assembly or carpentry skills
Confident using hand and power tools
Able to follow technical drawings and instructions
Reliable, practical and comfortable working as part of a workshop team
What's On Offer
£14–£17 per hour, depending on experience
Monday to Thursday: 7:00am–4:00pm
Friday: 6:00am–12:00pm
Early finish every Friday
Full-time, workshop-based position
