Are you an experienced and passionate Year 1 Teacher looking for your next opportunity in a welcoming and supportive primary school?
Veritas Education is working in partnership with a friendly primary school in Nelson to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Year 1 Teacher to cover a maternity leave from January 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum who can make a positive impact on pupils' learning and development.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher who can deliver engaging, creative and purposeful learning experiences to a Year 1 class.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, supporting pupils as they transition into Key Stage 1, and creating a positive classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to thrive.
Working closely with the wider school team, you will promote a love of learning, develop pupils' independence and ensure children make good progress academically, socially and emotionally.
We're Looking for Someone Who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Has proven experience teaching Year 1.
Has a strong understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and expectations.
Plans and delivers creative, engaging and effective lessons.
Has high expectations for behaviour, achievement and pupil progress.
Can confidently adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEND.
Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Works collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
