Mental Health Psychology Graduate - Gloucester
Are you a Psychology graduate interested in mental health, emotional wellbeing and understanding behaviour in children and young people?
A supportive Alternative Provision in Gloucester is looking for a resilient, empathetic and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join their team full time, starting on a temporary basis.
The provision supports pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, including anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural challenges and barriers to mainstream education. They are committed to providing a nurturing environment where pupils can rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships and re-engage with learning.
As a Mental Health Psychology Graduate, you will:
· Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
· Support children's emotional wellbeing and mental health.
· Help pupils develop positive coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
· Build trusting relationships and provide consistent encouragement.
· Support pupils experiencing anxiety, behavioural difficulties and social challenges.
· Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and resilience.
· Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support individual needs.
Whether you have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Youth Worker or are a recent Psychology graduate looking to build a career in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, Child Psychology or Educational Psychology, this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain relevant experience.
While previous experience in mental health or Alternative Provision would be an advantage, it is not essential. Most importantly, the provision is looking for a Psychology graduate who is compassionate, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children's emotional and psychological development.
As a Mental Health Psychology Graduate, you will gain valuable experience in mental health, emotional wellbeing, behaviour, resilience and adolescent development, making this an excellent opportunity for someone considering further study or a future career in mental health or psychology.
