Our client Milton Keynes Council is looking for a Social Care - Qualified
During the first 4 weeks, the candidate will be expected to be in the MK office every day as part of induction. On a triage week, they will need to be in the office every day as we deal with urgent / emergency matters. Over the other two weeks, there is the option to work from home no more than 6 days (over the 10 working days) as our policy is you can work from home 2 days per week and you are not able to on the triage week.
This is a full time role within one of our assessment pods. The pods move on a three week rota. The first is assessment week where the candidate will be allocated up to 4 pre-arranged Single Assessments to complete. This will involve travelling to the home to complete the assessment and visit the family. The second week is 'triage' week where the candidate is fully office based and will be dealing with potential Section 47 cases. This will involve attending strategy meetings and completing visits to families either as single agency or with the Police. The third week is effectively an 'off' week. This allows the candidate to complete any outstanding assessments, meetings and complete follow ups. No new cases will be allocated during this week. In our Team, we hold cases until the initial Child in Need meeting or the Initial Child Protection Conference whereby the longer term teams take over. There is the expectation that the candidate will attend these meetings as handover. If we have any families whereby we initiate legal proceedings, we remain the case holder until the first hearing. Likewise if a child becomes Looked After, we will hold until the first review meeting.
