Kitchen Designer
Premium Kitchens | Design-Led Role | Preston
The Opportunity
Axon Moore is working with a highly regarded premium interiors business to recruit an experienced Kitchen Designer to join its established showroom team in Preston.
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and technically accomplished designer who is passionate about producing exceptional kitchen designs and wants to focus on the design process rather than traditional sales.
Working in partnership with an experienced kitchen sales team, you will take customers' initial ideas and aspirations and transform them into beautifully considered, practical and technically detailed kitchen designs. You'll have the opportunity to work with premium products, quality materials and finishes, creating bespoke spaces that combine outstanding aesthetics with everyday functionality.
This is very much a design-focused position. You won't be expected to generate sales or manage the commercial side of the customer journey. Instead, you'll be able to concentrate on your strengths: understanding a customer's vision, developing creative solutions and bringing exceptional kitchen designs to life.
What You'll Be Doing
Creating inspiring, bespoke kitchen designs tailored to individual customer requirements, lifestyles and budgets.
Working closely with the kitchen sales team to understand customer briefs and translate ideas into effective design solutions.
Producing accurate and detailed kitchen plans, layouts and technical drawings.
Applying your knowledge of kitchen configurations, cabinetry, appliances, dimensions and technical specifications.
Balancing creativity with practicality to ensure designs are both visually impressive and suitable for installation.
Developing and refining designs in response to customer feedback and changing project requirements.
Advising on layouts, materials, finishes and design considerations to help customers visualise their finished kitchen.
Maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy throughout the design process.
Supporting the wider team in delivering a first-class customer experience.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with designers who have a strong background in interior design and a genuine passion for kitchens.
Ideally, you'll bring:
At least five years' interior design experience, preferably within kitchen design or a closely related interiors environment.
A natural creative flair and a strong eye for detail, proportion, colour, materials and spatial planning.
A good technical understanding of kitchen design, including cabinetry, appliances, measurements and layouts.
Experience using professional kitchen design software. Knowledge of Winner software would be particularly advantageous.
The ability to interpret customer requirements and turn initial concepts into well-considered, practical designs.
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to present and explain design concepts clearly.
A professional, approachable and customer-focused manner.
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wider team.
A genuine appreciation for quality, craftsmanship and premium interiors.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
A genuinely design-led position where your creativity and technical expertise are the priority.
The opportunity to work with an impressive range of premium kitchen products, materials and finishes.
No traditional sales targets or responsibility for closing sales.
A collaborative environment working alongside an established kitchen sales team.
The opportunity to create beautiful, bespoke kitchens and see your designs brought to life.
A showroom environment where quality, design and customer experience are at the heart of the business.
