Would you like to be part of a small and highly specialised service which is committed to supporting me in my home and in the community?
Would you like to be involved and support me to be as independent as possible?
Would you like to be well trained and well supported, and know that you are making a positive difference every time you go to work?
About Me
Rix House is a large Residential Care Home that provides 24hr person centred support to 10 individuals with physical and Learning Disabilities.
We endeavour to create positive family relationships offering a good circle of support. There is a strong focus on supporting individuals' lives in a person centred way which includes various activities in the home and in the community, shopping, managing own budgets, going on holiday and cooking. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible.
We currently have a long term plan to support individuals in their own homes (Supported Living) and we are working towards this goal. Due to this plan you will be asked to support in moving individuals to their own homes in the future.
Working Pattern
We want to help candidates understand the shift pattern from the outset to ensure the role is the right fit for them.
This position operates on a rota basis across all days of the week, including weekends. Shifts are typically:
-
Early shifts: 7:00am to 2:00pm/3:00pm
-
Late shifts: 2:00pm/3:00pm to 9:00pm/10:00pm
Please note that we do not operate long-day shifts. As the service runs throughout the day, successful candidates will need to be comfortable working both early and late shifts as part of the rota.
We encourage applicants to consider the shift pattern before applying to ensure it suits their personal commitments and availability. We believe being transparent from the start helps everyone find the right opportunity.
Training and Development
We offer training to all those who want to develop their skills and competencies not just in the care sector but in other areas too. Please note accredited training will be offered after your probation period ends which is 6 months, and may include Diplomas and apprenticeships in health and social care.

We run all of our services on a not-for-profit basis; instead, we invest every penny back into our services and people. We never stop believing in change for the better, and we work constantly to improve the lives of the people we support.
