ESTIMATOR - ARCHITECTURAL METALWORK
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £30,000-£45,000
The Highfield Company is working with a growing architectural metalwork specialist that supplies and installs balconies, balustrades, staircases, canopies and secondary steelwork for prominent contractors nationwide.
With an expanding portfolio of main contractor clients and an established supply chain, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a growing team and contribute to the company's continued success.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous estimating experience within architectural metalwork or structural steelwork.
A strong understanding of construction and the ability to interpret project requirements.
Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to produce accurate, competitive estimates within deadlines.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Confident communication and relationship-building skills when dealing with clients, contractors, consultants and designers.
Experience in client negotiations and a track record of helping secure new projects.
Key Responsibilities
Report to the Sales Director and take ownership of allocated estimates from initial enquiry through to submission.
Prepare accurate and competitive estimates in line with project specifications and deadlines.
Manage client expectations and maintain effective communication throughout the estimating process.
Attend estimating and pre-contract meetings as required.
Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, designers and suppliers to clarify project requirements.
Support negotiations and contribute to securing new business.
Lead handover meetings for successful projects, ensuring a smooth transition to the production team.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
