Your responsibilities will include:
-
Carrying out servicing, planned preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy plant and construction machinery.
-
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
-
Maintaining and repairing excavators and other construction plant equipment.
-
Carrying out inspections, fault-finding and breakdown repairs.
-
Working on support vans and other vehicles as required.
-
Attending site breakdowns and carrying out mobile repairs to minimise downtime.
-
Ensuring all maintenance and repair work is completed safely and to a high standard.
-
Maintaining accurate service records and reporting any additional repair requirements.
What We’re Looking For
-
Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Fitter or similar.
-
Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
-
Experience maintaining and repairing construction plant and heavy machinery.
-
A good understanding of hydraulic systems and mechanical components.
-
The ability to work independently in the workshop and out on site.
-
A proactive approach to maintenance, safety and minimising equipment downtime.
-
A full UK driving licence is desirable for the mobile element of the role.
What’s on Offer?
-
Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience.
-
Monday to Friday working.
-
45 hours per week, starting at 7:30am.
-
A structured 12-week workshop induction to learn the fleet and equipment.
-
A varied workload covering heavy plant, construction machinery and vans.
-
The opportunity to join an established civil engineering operation with an extensive plant fleet.
