Planner
Location: Brindleyplace, Birmingham, B1 2JB (hybrid working)
Salary: £27,000–£30,800 per annum
Contract: Permanent, full-time
About the role
Join GreenSquareAccord’s Repair Operations Planning team and help make sure repairs, maintenance and compliance work is delivered efficiently for our customers. You’ll plan and coordinate work for operatives, engineers and contractors, balancing customer needs, appointments, priorities, location and available resources.
It’s a busy, fast-moving role where plans can change throughout the day. You’ll use good judgement to respond to emergencies, cancellations and changing workloads, keeping customers informed and work on track. You’ll usually support particular teams or workstreams, with the flexibility to help across the wider service when needed. Training and guidance will help you build your knowledge; technical repairs experience isn’t essential.
What you’ll do
-
Schedule and allocate work, balancing priorities, deadlines, compliance requirements and team capacity.
-
Monitor appointments and workloads, identifying potential delays, missed visits or compliance risks.
-
Adapt plans when circumstances change and coordinate follow-on work across trades and teams.
-
Arrange and update customer appointments, taking account of individual needs and access requirements.
-
Keep accurate records and work closely with operational colleagues, contractors and customer-facing teams.
-
Progress issues, escalate risks appropriately and help resolve enquiries, complaints and service failures.
-
Spot recurring problems and suggest practical improvements to our planning and processes.
What you’ll bring
-
Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities calmly.
-
Sound judgement, clear communication and confidence making day-to-day decisions.
-
A customer-focused, collaborative and flexible approach.
-
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to use information to identify priorities and risks.
-
A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
Planning or scheduling experience is useful, as is experience in repairs, housing, logistics, customer service, contractor coordination or compliance. Familiarity with social housing repairs or systems such as MRI, Service Connect or TotalMobile is an advantage, but not essential.
