Marketing & Communications Officer
Location: Preston, PR1 6QH
* £25,012 pro rata
* Part-time, 12 hours per week
* Fixed term for 12 months, with continuation subject to further funding
About Preston Muslim Forum
Preston Muslim Forum is a registered charity serving people of all ages, faiths, cultures and backgrounds across Preston.
Rooted in the community and open to all, they provide services and facilities that advance economic and social welfare and improve people’s life chances. They have particular expertise in reaching communities who face barriers to mainstream support.
About the Role
Reporting to the Business Manager, you’ll lead Preston Muslim Forum’s digital communications, social media and marketing activities, strengthening their digital presence and promoting their projects, services, campaigns and community impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Creating engaging content for social media, newsletters, the website and promotional materials.
* Managing social media channels and increasing online engagement.
* Designing digital and printed marketing materials using Canva or similar tools.
* Promoting projects, events, campaigns and success stories through graphics, videos, photography and case studies.
* Updating website news, events and project pages, improving search visibility and monitoring Eventbrite listings and bookings.
* Providing design and content support for the Annual Impact Report and responding to routine communications enquiries.
* Tracking social media, website and campaign performance, producing simple monthly reports and recommendations.
About You
You’ll be a motivated, creative communicator who embraces Preston Muslim Forum’s mission and values, putting the communities they serve at the heart of your work.
Preston Muslim Forum is looking for:
* A qualification in digital marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
* Experience managing social media and digital marketing campaigns.
* Experience updating website content using WordPress, Odoo or similar platforms.
* Strong content creation and design skills using Canva or equivalent tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* Knowledge of GDPR, including consent for photographs and case studies, and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Experience in the charity, community or voluntary sector, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, Google Analytics or CRM systems, photography and video skills, and the ability to communicate in a community language alongside English would also be valuable.
