Are you the person who keeps everything moving, knows exactly where every order is, and gets a small thrill from a purchase order that matches perfectly? Then this could be your job.
Who We Are
Universal Science has been making custom parts from high-tech materials for over 24 years, mostly for customers in electronics and electric vehicles. We’ve also built Materials Direct, an online platform where customers upload a drawing, get an instant price, and have their part made within 24 hours and shipped anywhere in the world. We’re small enough that you’ll know everyone and growing fast enough that there’s always something new.
The Role
You’ll look after orders from start to finish. That means:
Handling customer enquiries and quotes
Raising sales and purchase orders in Sage 50
Buying materials from our suppliers at the right price
Keeping an eye on stock
Booking UK and overseas shipments with our freight partners
Issuing Certificates of Conformance
Sorting it out when a delivery goes sideways
Some days are calm. Some aren’t.
What You’ll Need
Around two years using Sage 50 Accounts Professional for quotes, sales orders and purchase orders
Experience buying materials and arranging deliveries, including imports and exports
Confidence in Outlook, Excel and Word
The kind of brain that can juggle several things without dropping any
GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent
It would be lovely, but not essential, if you’ve worked in engineering or manufacturing, can read an engineering drawing, or know your way around ISO 9001.
Your Hours
8am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 8am – 12pm on Friday, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks a day.
