Build your career with Trueline Expanded Products
Are you good with numbers, have an eye for detail and want to build a career in manufacturing and construction?
Trueline Expanded Products is a leading UK manufacturer of architectural aluminium fabricated building products, supplying customers across the construction industry. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and organised Junior Estimator to join our growing Commercial team in Kidderminster.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career who wants to learn, develop and gain practical experience in a specialist manufacturing environment. Working alongside experienced estimators, you’ll learn how to interpret technical drawings, calculate costs, prepare customer quotations and understand the commercial and manufacturing processes behind our products.
You don’t need to know everything from day one. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and the ambition to develop their skills.
What you’ll be doing
As a Junior Estimator, you’ll play an important role in supporting our Estimating and Commercial teams. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the preparation of accurate, competitive customer quotations.
Learning to read and interpret architectural, engineering and CAD drawings.
Assisting with measurements, material take-offs and quantity calculations.
Developing an understanding of aluminium fabrication products and manufacturing processes.
Preparing cost calculations using our inhouse system.
Learning how to assess material, labour and production costs.
Requesting and reviewing supplier quotations where required.
Maintaining accurate quotation records, customer information and electronic filing systems.
Working closely with CAD, Production, Purchasing and other internal departments.
Developing an understanding of pricing structures, profit margins and commercial processes.
Helping ensure quotations are completed within agreed timescales.
Following up customer quotations within seven days.
Understanding customer requirements and helping identify suitable product solutions.
Responding professionally to customer enquiries by telephone and email.
Supporting continuous improvement across the Commercial department.
As your knowledge and confidence grow, you’ll take on greater responsibility and develop the skills needed to manage quotations and customer requirements more independently.
What we’re looking for
We’re interested in people with potential, enthusiasm and the right approach to learning. Previous estimating experience is not essential for the right candidate.
You’ll ideally have:
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence working with figures.
Good IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A methodical approach and strong attention to detail.
An interest in engineering, manufacturing or construction.
The ability to read and interpret engineering or CAD drawings, or a willingness to learn.
An understanding of commercial principles, or an interest in developing commercial awareness.
The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks.
A positive, can-do attitude and the confidence to ask questions.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A reliable, punctual and professional approach.
Above all, we’re looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes pride in their work and wants to build a long-term career with us.
