An established electrical services organisation operating across London and the South East is seeking a motivated Electrical Improver to join its growing team. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to build on their existing electrical experience and develop towards a long-term career in Testing & Inspection.
This position offers structured training, hands-on experience alongside qualified engineers, and a genuine route into a permanent testing and inspection role following successful completion of the development programme.
The Opportunity Working across residential and commercial properties throughout South London, you will assist with a variety of electrical projects while gaining practical exposure to inspection, fault finding and compliance testing activities.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist qualified engineers with electrical maintenance, installation and inspection tasks
Support electrical condition reporting and associated remedial works
Carry out assigned duties in line with current industry regulations and safe working practices
Work efficiently within a field-based engineering team
Ensure all work areas are maintained in a safe and professional manner
Build positive relationships with tenants, customers and site contacts
Complete required documentation accurately and promptly
Participate in ongoing technical training and development programmes
Undertake additional tasks appropriate to your level of competenceCandidate Requirements
Minimum 1-2 years' experience within the electrical industry
City & Guilds Level 2 or Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
Full UK driving licence
Own basic electrical hand tools
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Reliable, organised and able to work effectively within a team environment
