Site Operative / Cleaning Operative
Location: Musselburgh, Scotland
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent (12-week temp-to-perm)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Overtime: Available at 1.5x the standard rate
About the Role
We are currently recruiting 4–5 Site Operatives / Cleaning Operatives to join a busy anaerobic digestion and recycling facility based in Musselburgh.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an essential environmental services operation, supporting the processing and recycling of food waste. The successful candidates will help maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out general site cleaning and housekeeping duties.
Maintaining cleanliness across operational areas and workspaces.
Supporting waste handling, recycling and site operations.
Assisting with the safe movement and management of materials.
Following all site health and safety procedures.
Working as part of a team to ensure the facility operates efficiently.
Reporting any hazards, maintenance issues or safety concerns to management.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in a recycling, waste management, yard or production environment is desirable.
Experience in industrial cleaning or general site operative duties would be an advantage.
A good attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.
A valid telehandler licence would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
What’s on Offer?
£12.71 per hour.
Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, including a one-hour unpaid break.
Overtime opportunities paid at 1.5x the standard hourly rate.
