Veritas Education is looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Complex Needs Support Assistants to work within specialist education settings across Sunderland.
You'll be supporting young people with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical or physical needs. One of the specialist academies we're supporting in Sunderland works with young people aged 11-19 with severe learning difficulties and profound, multiple and complex medical needs.
What could the role involve?
Supporting pupils throughout their school day
Providing 1:1 and small-group support
Personal care and physical support where required
Encouraging communication, engagement and independence
Supporting pupils with sensory and learning activities
Working closely with teachers and experienced support staffWho are we looking for?
Previous school experience is not essential. We'd particularly like to hear from people with backgrounds in:
Care or residential support
Healthcare
Complex needs/PMLD support
Children's support work
Supported living
SEN educationYou'll need to be patient, compassionate, resilient and comfortable providing personal care where required.
