I am currently recruiting a Fractional CFO to support a growing SaaS business as it prepares for a potential exit within the next six months, through either a trade sale or private equity transaction.
Working closely with the CEO, you'll lead the financial preparation for the exit and ensure the business is ready to withstand detailed buyer and investor scrutiny.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the CEO in planning and managing the route to exit
- Preparing the financial information and analysis required by potential buyers
- Building and maintaining a comprehensive data room
- Managing relationships with corporate finance advisers, accountants, lawyers and other external parties
- Coordinating financial due diligence and responding to buyer enquiries
- Ensuring forecasts, management information and key SaaS metrics are accurate and clearly presented
- Identifying and resolving issues that could affect valuation or delay the transaction
- Helping the CEO present a clear and credible financial story to prospective buyers and investors
- Using AI and automation to improve the finance stack, reporting, forecasting and transaction-readiness processes
Previous experience of both working within SaaS and successfully supporting the exit of a SaaS business is essential. You should understand the metrics and commercial drivers that buyers and investors will examine, including recurring revenue, ARR, retention, churn, customer acquisition, lifetime value and revenue quality.
You must also be commercially confident and comfortable using AI in a practical finance environment. This should include identifying where AI can streamline processes, improve analysis and reporting, strengthen financial insight and make the existing finance stack more effective.
We're looking for a hands-on CFO or Finance Director who can work closely with a founder or CEO, bring structure to a time-sensitive process and deal confidently with advisers and potential buyers
