We are working with a secondary school in Havering that is looking for a dedicated, confident and experienced Pastoral Coordinator to join their pastoral team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, can build positive relationships and is confident supporting students with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting students' wellbeing, improving attendance and behaviour, and ensuring that pupils feel supported and engaged in their education.
The Role
Providing day-to-day pastoral support to students across the school
Supporting students with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties
Monitoring and supporting student attendance, punctuality and behaviour
Working closely with Heads of Year, teaching staff, SENCOs and senior leaders
Building positive relationships with students, parents and carers
Managing challenging behaviour and helping to resolve incidents calmly and professionally
Supporting students through difficult situations and helping them overcome barriers to learning
Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions where required
Maintaining accurate records of pastoral concerns, incidents and interventions
Promoting a positive school culture and ensuring students feel safe, supported and encouragedThe Ideal Candidate
Previous experience in a pastoral, behaviour, mentoring or student support role, ideally within a secondary school
A good understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and student wellbeing
Confident dealing with challenging behaviour and sensitive situations
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Calm, approachable, resilient and organised
Able to build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear boundaries
Experience working alongside Heads of Year, SENCOs or pastoral teams would be advantageous
