We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school on a full-time, long-term basis. The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.

Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and learning needs.

Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.

Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and independence.
-
Implementing EHCP targets and individual support strategies.
-
Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
-
Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
-
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEND Teaching Assistant.

Have experience supporting children with additional needs.
-
Be patient, caring and supportive.
-
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Be confident working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups.

Be adaptable and able to use their own initiative.
-
Have a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Requirements

Previous SEND experience preferred.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
