We are looking for an experienced Robot Setter Operator to join our growing manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience operating and setting robotic or automated production equipment who is looking to play a key role in delivering high-quality products within a fast-paced production environment.
Working with advanced ABB robotic systems and water jet cutting technology, you will be responsible for both day-to-day machine operation and machine setup activities, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As a Robot Setter Operator, you will be responsible for operating, setting and maintaining robotic production equipment, carrying out changeovers, proving programmes, setting fixtures and ensuring components are manufactured to specification.
You'll play a vital role in keeping production running smoothly, supporting quality standards, minimising downtime and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
Operate robotic and automated production equipment safely and efficiently.
Run ABB robotic systems and associated manufacturing equipment.
Manufacture components in line with engineering drawings, CAD data and production schedules.
Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs.
Carry out routine inspections, operator checks and quality assessments.
Complete all production, quality and traceability documentation accurately.
Report machine faults, quality issues or production concerns promptly.
Machine Setting & Changeovers
Carry out machine setups, fixturing changes and product changeovers.
Load and change tooling, fixtures, jigs and programmes.
Set and verify process parameters against approved specifications.
Perform dry runs, first-off inspections and programme verification checks.
Ensure equipment is correctly configured and safe before commencing production.
Manufacture both production and low-volume components.
Support efficient changeovers to maximise machine uptime and productivity.
About You
Essential Experience & Skills
Previous experience setting and operating robotic, automated, CNC or production machinery within a manufacturing environment.
Experience carrying out machine setups, fixture changes, programme adjustments and production changeovers.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD data and manufacturing instructions.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products right first time.
Ability to identify production issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
Experience completing production records, quality documentation and traceability paperwork.
A proactive and team-focused approach with the ability to work independently when required.
Desirable
Experience operating CNC cutting machines, water jet cutting equipment, hydraulic presses, autoclaves or composite manufacturing machinery.
Previous experience within aerospace, automotive, defence or advanced manufacturing sectors.
Knowledge of first-off inspection, process verification and quality control processes.
Basic fault-finding and first-line maintenance experience.
PUWER training or equivalent industry knowledge.
