You will be responsible for keeping customers supplied and the sales team informed. Run day-to-day purchasing and stock replenishment, so the right stock arrives on time without tying up cash. You are the go-to person for stock, ETA and availability questions from the sales team.
The company is in a very lovely rural setting therefore, candidates must be able to drive.
Key duties & responsibilities

Daily ordering: run the daily ordering routine in Slimstock and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Review and approve stock replenishment proposals, specials, non-stock items and demand spikes in one daily pass.

Purchase orders: place, confirm and track POs with UK, European and Far East suppliers. Keep confirmed ETAs up to date in the system.

Expediting: chase late and part deliveries, and escalate supplier failures to the Strategic Procurement & Supplier Performance Manager.

Sales support: be the single point of contact for stock, ETA and availability questions. Give an answer or an update within the same working day.

Specials, dropship and project orders: source, quote and order non-stock items. Coordinate delivery dates for practice kit-out projects with the warehouse.

New product enquiries: find suppliers and pricing for customer requests. Pass recurring or high-volume lines to the Strategic Procurement & Supplier Performance Manager for tender.

People: line-manage, coach and set daily priorities for the offshore Purchasing & Supply Chain Administrator.

Reporting: produce weekly stock-out, overdue-PO and stock-holding reports, and present at the monthly stock and supply review.
Required qualifications, knowledge, experience & skills

2–4 years in purchasing, supply planning or customer supply, ideally in distribution or wholesale

Hands-on use of an ERP or forecasting tool (Slimstock, Business Central or similar)

Experience ordering from Far East suppliers: lead times, shipping, MOQs

Strong Excel skills

Calm, clear and quick with internal customers; answers in plain English

Organised: runs a daily task list and closes things out
