If you're an experienced Building Surveyor who wants more than simply managing projects, this is an opportunity to step into a role where your ideas, relationships and commercial drive can genuinely influence the direction of a growing consultancy.
We're working with an ambitious multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy that has built an excellent reputation across the UK and internationally. With the London operation continuing to grow, they're looking for an Associate Director - Building Surveying to play a key part in the next phase of that journey.
This is a role for someone who wants to be visible, influential and commercially involved - developing clients, winning new instructions, mentoring the next generation and helping shape the future of the Building Surveying team.
What you'll be getting involved in
You'll have a varied mix of technical, client-facing and leadership responsibilities, including:
Building and developing strong relationships with new and existing clients
Identifying opportunities, winning instructions and supporting business development
Preparing fee proposals and contributing to the growth of the service line
Leading professional Building Surveying instructions across a varied portfolio
Working on prime and super-prime residential, landmark commercial, theatres and major mixed-use developments
Advising on Party Wall matters and Licence to Alter projects
Producing specifications, tender and contract documentation
Contract Administration, dilapidations and defect diagnosis
Measured and building surveys across a range of property types
Supporting Expert Witness instructions, including inspections and CPR35-compliant reporting
Maintaining strong client relationships and consistently high levels of service
Mentoring surveyors and supporting APC candidates through their development
Working closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities and shape the team's futureWhy this role?

You'll ideally be:
MRICS qualified, with an RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree
Experienced within a consultancy environment
Strong across professional Building Surveying services
Comfortable developing client relationships and contributing to business development
Commercially minded with an understanding of fee generation and account growth
Confident leading, mentoring and developing others
A strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD/BIM experience would be advantageousThe opportunity
This could suit an existing Associate Director looking for greater autonomy and a bigger platform, or a Senior Building Surveyor ready to make the step into a genuine leadership position.
