Role overview
In this pivotal role, you will combine your specialist expertise in housing disrepair and condition-related litigation with a passion for leadership. You will personally drive cases forward by drafting critical legal pleadings and conducting non-trial advocacy, while directly empowering and mentoring a dedicated team of junior legal professionals to protect the organization’s interests and elevate service standards.
Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Advocacy: Provide specialist advice on landlord-tenant matters (disrepair, ASB, possession, EPA prosecutions), draft all court pleadings, and conduct non-trial advocacy or brief Counsel.

Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and support 2 to 6 Paralegals/junior staff to foster continuous learning, wellbeing, and robust performance management.

Operations & Training: Standardize workflows between legal and maintenance teams, maintain SRA-compliant case systems, and deliver internal housing law training.
Key Requirements & Qualifications

Professional Credentials: Must hold a valid Law Society Practising Certificate (Solicitor), Bar Council Certificate with litigation rights (Barrister), or Chartered Legal Executive status.
