Position Brief
On behalf of a highly respected Independent Insurance Broker, is seeking to appoint a high-calibre Senior Commercial Insurance Broker to join their expanding team in Swindon.
Driven by sustained year-on-year growth and an ambitious blueprint for future expansion, our client is looking for a sophisticated technical broker capable of managing complex risk placements, executing seamless renewals, and structuring robust new business submissions.
Given the premium profile of the client portfolio, you will possess extensive, deep-rooted knowledge of the UK commercial insurance market and be entirely comfortable negotiating at a board-room level with senior corporate directors. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Market Placement & Strategy: Market complex corporate risks to insurers for both high-value renewals and new business opportunities. You will prepare comprehensive market documentation and design strategic placement frameworks to secure optimum terms.
• Insurer Negotiations: Leverage strong existing relationships across local, national, Lloyd’s, and global specialty insurance markets to broker best-in-class pricing and coverage clauses.
• Client & Producer Support: Assist Account Directors in designing and preparing sophisticated risk presentations for high-net-worth corporate clientele, ensuring all coverage options are transparently communicated.
• Risk Appraisal: Meticulously review risk submissions received from producers, assessing client needs to ensure complete coverage accuracy across multi-class commercial portfolios.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all market document slips, policies, and endorsements are closed, verified, and issued in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner.
• Proactive Renewal Management: Systematically track impending policy renewals, proactively gathering up-to-date risk information from clients well in advance to allow for rigorous market exercises.
Candidate Profile
• Brokerage Expertise: Extensive, demonstrable experience working as a Commercial Broker or Placement Specialist within a varied, cross-class independent or national brokerage environment.
• Technical Breadth: Intricate knowledge of multi-class commercial products (e.g., Property Owners, Commercial Combined, Fleet, Liability, and Financial Lines) alongside a firm grasp of active FCA regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Executive Presence: Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation capabilities, with the confidence to advise C-suite executives and business directors on complex risk structures.
• Professional Standing: Cert CII qualification is highly desirable, with active progression toward or completion of ACII being heavily supported.
