We’re looking for an experienced Nights Aircraft Painter / Paint Sprayer to join our Paint Shop team in Christchurch.
Please note this is Night Shift role and would require the ideal person to work nights
Reporting to the Treatments Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for preparing and spray painting aircraft components in accordance with engineering drawings, job specifications and Company procedures.
This is a hands-on role where quality, attention to detail and compliance with aerospace specifications are essential.
The Role
You’ll carry out the preparation and spray painting of aircraft parts, ensuring components are finished to the required quality and customer specifications.
You’ll work closely with Treatments, Quality, Engineering and Production, while also supporting the wider Treatments function when required.

What You’ll Be Doing
-
Prepare and spray paint aircraft components in accordance with job specifications and Company procedures.

Mix paints to the correct job and process requirements.

Mask and prepare components prior to painting.
-
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and job documentation.

Carry out visual inspection of completed work to ensure the required finish and quality standards are achieved.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production and Treatments to resolve issues and meet production requirements.

Support surface treatment activities when required.
About You
We’re looking for someone with practical spray-painting experience who understands the quality standards required within aerospace manufacturing.
You’ll ideally have:

Ideally have experience painting aircraft parts.

Previous spray-painting experience within an aircraft or aerospace manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and job specifications.

Knowledge or experience of working to aircraft specifications for surface treatments.

Good knowledge of spray-painting techniques and paint composition.

Ability to carry out visual inspection and maintain high standards of finish.

Surface treatment knowledge would be advantageous.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
