Experienced in coil or motor winding and ready for a fresh start in Norwich?
We are recruiting a Coil Winder to join a specialist electrical manufacturing business, offering hands-on work, ongoing professional development, excellent benefits and an early Friday finish.
We are advertising in Leeds to attract experienced candidates willing to relocate. This role is based on site in Norwich, so relocation to Norwich or the surrounding area is required.
The business specialises in bar wound electric motor windings, a niche manufacturing discipline. Bar winding experience would be ideal, but candidates with wire winding or other relevant motor winding experience are encouraged to apply. The team is happy to review your CV and discuss how your skills could fit.
The role
As a Coil Winder, you will wind and connect electric motor rotor and stator windings, following technical drawings, specifications and winding documentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Producing windings using high-voltage rectangular copper strip coils.
Working accurately to electrical drawings and specifications.
Maintaining consistently high standards of workmanship and quality.
Using workshop machinery and equipment, including overhead cranes, welding and brazing equipment, multimeters and hand tools, as required.
Supporting quality and business improvement initiatives.
Working flexibly alongside colleagues while following health, safety and environmental requirements. What we're looking for
The successful Coil Winder will have relevant winding experience, good attention to detail and the ability to understand technical drawings.
You will also bring:
A practical approach and pride in producing high-quality work.
The ability to use your initiative and work well within a team.
An understanding of safe working practices.
The ability to carry out the manual handling involved in the role.
A flexible attitude and willingness to support colleagues. Experience in one-off or small-batch manufacturing, manual handling, slinging and lifting would be advantageous. A Level 3 electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is desirable.
Bar winding experience is preferred, but not essential. If you have experience with wire wound motors, we would welcome a conversation.
What's on offer?
Alongside the Coil Winder salary, benefits include:
25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
Flexible start time.
Life insurance at four times your annual salary.
Free on-site parking.
Workplace pension and salary sacrifice scheme.
Company sick pay.
Family-friendly policies, including enhanced maternity and paternity benefits.
Long service awards.
Employee draws for Norwich City FC home match tickets.
Ongoing professional development and training. Ready to make your next move? Apply for this Coil Winder opportunity through Headway Recruitment, confirming your willingness to relocate to Norwich or the surrounding area
