A growing engineering business based in Letchworth, Hertfordshire is looking for a Production Operator to join its expanding operations team.
The company designs and manufactures rugged, reliable power systems used in demanding environments across sectors including aerospace, defence and marine. With a strong order book and continued growth, this is an excellent opportunity to join a small but expanding engineering business.
This is a hands-on production role suited to someone with experience in electronic or mechanical assembly, soldering or wiring. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop your skills, gain further qualifications and progress within the business.
The Role
Working within the Operations team, you will be responsible for assembling products to the required quality standards and ensuring they are delivered on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
Electronic assembly
Soldering
Cable and wiring assembly
Mechanical assembly
Surface-mount assembly (useful but not essential)
Following production processes and work instructions
Supporting materials processing, goods receipt and despatch
Supporting equipment calibration and maintenance
Contributing to continuous improvement projects
Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and keen to learn, with an interest in developing their career within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Ideally, you'll have:
Experience in electronic, electrical or mechanical assembly
Soldering experience
J-STD-001 qualification would be beneficial
Experience with cable and wiring assembly
Surface-mount assembly experience is advantageous but not essential
Basic computer skills
GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent
Good attention to detail
The ability to follow work instructions and procedures
Good timekeeping and reliability
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A genuine desire to learn and progress Training & Progression
Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to gain experience across different areas of the business.
There is also the opportunity to work towards higher-level qualifications through day release or other agreed arrangements, providing a clear route for development and progression.
