Registered Building Inspector – Class 2A
We’re working with an established Building Control organisation that is looking to add an experienced Class 2A Registered Building Inspector to their team.
The role covers a varied range of projects, from smaller domestic extensions through to major commercial developments, with a strong focus on providing professional Building Control support and adding value throughout the build process.
The role covers Hertfordshire.

The role
As a Class 2A Registered Building Inspector, you’ll be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of projects and providing professional Building Control support throughout the build process.
You’ll work closely with clients, design teams, architects and contractors, acting as the compliance lead and ensuring projects meet the relevant Building Regulations and associated legislation.
Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out Building Control site inspections within your class of competence

Assessing and processing Building Control applications

Working collaboratively with clients, design teams and contractors

Providing professional advice and communication to stakeholders
-
Supporting Local Authorities with regularisation processes where required

Producing accurate inspection records and maintaining digital records
-
Issuing plan and Final Certificates where appropriate

Investigating and resolving Building Regulations breaches

Keeping up to date with changes to legislation, construction practices and regulatory guidance

Working across the agreed service area as required

Participating in internal training, peer reviews and CPD

Contributing to the continuous improvement of the Building Control service
What are they looking for?
They’re looking for a Class 2A Registered Building Inspector with:

Class 2A registration

Strong construction industry experience and knowledge of Building Regulations

The ability to make pragmatic, professional decisions

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with a range of stakeholders

A good understanding of relevant legislation, guidance and associated documentation

A full UK driving licence
