Caretaker / Facilities Cleaner
Anlaby, West Hull
£14.00 per hour
30-40 hours per week
Monday to Friday
Adecco are recruiting for a reliable and proactive Caretaker / Facilities Cleaner to join a professional office site based in Anlaby.
This is not just a standard cleaning position.
Cleaning will form the main part of the role, but you will also help keep the wider site clean, tidy, safe and well presented. This will include basic caretaking duties, external upkeep, key handling and reporting any maintenance issues.
We are looking for someone who takes real pride in their work, is comfortable working independently and can use their own initiative rather than needing constant supervision.
What you'll be doing
Your day-to-day duties will include:
Cleaning offices, meeting rooms and communal areas
Cleaning kitchens, toilets and shower facilities
Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general cleaning
Emptying bins and maintaining waste areas
Restocking cleaning supplies and consumables
Keeping communal areas clean and presentable
Litter picking around the grounds and car park
General upkeep of garden and external areas
Grass cutting and basic outdoor maintenance
Carrying out regular checks around the building
Reporting any maintenance faults, damage or safety concerns
Key holding and assisting with access to the building when required
Helping ensure the site remains secure, tidy and well maintained
Supporting with general caretaking duties as required
There may also be the opportunity to get involved with:
End-of-tenancy painting
Touch-up decorating
Basic DIY and minor repairs
Painting and DIY experience is not essential and these duties would only form part of the role where the successful person is comfortable carrying them out.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in a professional cleaning role
Reliable, trustworthy and punctual
Comfortable working independently
Able to manage their own workload and prioritise tasks
Proactive and able to spot jobs that need doing
Happy working both indoors and outdoors
Physically comfortable carrying out a varied, hands-on role
Proud of maintaining high standards
Friendly and professional when dealing with people on site
Previous experience within caretaking, facilities, maintenance, site services or a similar hands-on role would be highly desirable, although cleaning experience is the essential requirement.
A driving licence would be desirable but is not essential.
Why this role?
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants more responsibility than a traditional cleaning position.
You will have the freedom to manage your own workload, take ownership of the site and play an important role in keeping the building and grounds looking their best.
If you are someone who notices what needs doing and gets on with it, this could be a brilliant fit.
