Provide first aid to pupils, staff and visitors, including responding to medical emergencies
Manage the welfare room and support sick, injured or distressed pupils
Record accidents and medical incidents using Medical Tracker
Maintain medical records, care plans and consent documentation
Manage pupil medication, inhalers, EpiPens and expiry dates
Liaise with parents, healthcare professionals and school staff
Coordinate immunisations, vaccinations and health checks
Maintain first-aid supplies, equipment and school first-aid kits
Prepare medical information and resources for school trips
Report safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures
Support the school office and reception team when requiredRequirements
Previous experience as a Welfare Assistant or in a similar medical, pastoral or school-based role
A current Paediatric First Aid Training and Certificate
A caring, empathetic and approachable manner
Excellent communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
Ability to remain calm when dealing with illness, injury or emergencies
A strong understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding
