Shift Production Operative

Reports To: Team Leader & Shift Manager
Contract: Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: £15.37 per hour
About the Role
We are recruiting for Shift Production Operatives to join a leading manufacturer of nonwoven materials and engineered papers based in Kentmere.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a busy production team, contributing to the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of the manufacturing plant. Full training will be provided to help you develop your skills and become proficient across multiple production areas.
Key Responsibilities
Operate production machinery safely and efficiently, making adjustments as required.
Carry out routine production tasks in line with standard operating procedures.
Complete quality checks and ensure products meet the required specifications.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping throughout the site.
Identify operational issues or waste and report them to the Team Leader or Management.
Assist with material handling, loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively during shift handovers.
Use basic IT systems, including inventory and production software (training provided).
Wear the correct PPE and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Train across a variety of production processes and machinery.
Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the business.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience operating machinery in a production setting.
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
A flexible approach to shift work.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Working Hours
You will work an alternating shift pattern:
Week 1: 4 day shifts (7:00am - 7:00pm)
Week 2: 3 night shifts (7:00pm - 7:00am)No weekend working is currently required; however, additional hours may be necessary during busier periods, subject to business needs.
