Are you an experienced SEND professional looking for a role where you can have a real impact on the support children and young people receive?
EmpowerED is working with a specialist secondary school in Reading to recruit a SEND Manager to play a key role in coordinating and strengthening SEND provision across the school.
Working closely with the SENCO and wider leadership team, you will oversee a range of SEND processes, including annual reviews, EHCP administration, external agency liaison, provision mapping, student support and SEND compliance.
This is a varied role suited to someone who is highly organised, confident communicating with families and professionals, and passionate about ensuring young people with additional needs receive the right support.
The role will include:

Coordinating annual reviews and supporting EHCP processes

Maintaining accurate SEND records, data and provision mapping

Liaising with parents, carers, local authorities and external agencies

Monitoring student attendance, progress and interventions
-
Supporting SEND compliance and quality assurance
-
Helping staff understand SEND processes and inclusive practice

Coordinating alternative provision where required

Line managing a small team of Teaching Assistants
We’re looking for someone with:

Experience within SEND, education or a closely related environment

Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail

Confidence managing competing priorities and statutory deadlines

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

A genuine commitment to inclusion and supporting young people with additional needs

Confidence using databases, ICT systems and provision mapping tools

The ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families and external professionals
