We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator / Finance Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a predominantly payroll-focused position, with additional finance administration duties. The successful candidate will be confident running payroll accurately and independently within a busy practice environment.

Hours: 20 hours per week

Working pattern: Five days per week, four hours per day

Salary: £26,000–£28,000 full-time equivalent, depending on experience (paid pro rata)
Key responsibilities

Process client payrolls accurately and on time across weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay cycles

Calculate statutory payments, deductions, pensions, holiday pay and other payroll adjustments

Prepare and submit Real Time Information returns to HMRC

Manage starters, leavers, payroll changes and year-end processes

Respond professionally to payroll queries from clients and employees

Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure deadlines are met

Support routine finance administration, including bookkeeping, reconciliations and maintaining financial records
About you

Previous experience running payroll within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau is essential

Sound knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and workplace pensions

Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail

Organised, reliable and able to manage recurring deadlines

Confident communicating with clients and handling confidential information

Comfortable working independently while contributing to a supportive team
