Temporary Works Coordinator Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
What will you do?
The Role
Reporting to the Temporary Works Manager, you will take ownership of the coordination, management and assurance of temporary works throughout their lifecycle. Working closely with designers, project managers, construction teams and client stakeholders, you will ensure temporary works are designed, checked, approved and delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with all project procedures.
You will be the focal point for temporary works coordination, ensuring designs are integrated into delivery programmes, appropriately reviewed and communicated clearly to site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all temporary works activities across design and construction teams.
Manage Temporary Works Schedules and monitor progress against programme requirements.
Ensure temporary works designs are fit for purpose, adequately checked and approved.
Liaise with designers, Temporary Works Supervisors (TWS), project leads and client representatives.
Review and develop temporary works design briefs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
Manage design changes and ensure residual risks are effectively communicated.
Verify that construction activities are carried out using approved-for-construction drawings and documentation.
Undertake inspections and support assurance activities throughout construction.
Establish hold points and key inspection stages to ensure safety and quality requirements are met.
Capture lessons learned and promote continuous improvement across the project.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring experience coordinating temporary works on large-scale infrastructure, marine or offshore projects.
Essential:
Proven experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator or in a similar temporary works management role.
Significant experience working on complex temporary works schemes.
Offshore or marine construction experience, including knowledge of lifting operations.
Current Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) training and competency in accordance with industry standards.
Strong understanding of temporary works procedures, design management and construction delivery.
Ability to engage confidently with multiple stakeholders and drive compliance across project teams.
Desirable:
HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience within major infrastructure, nuclear, energy or civil engineering projects.
