Vehicle Damage Assessor
position based in
Huddersfield
. Working within a busy and well-established bodyshop, you will play a key role in assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates and ensuring vehicles are repaired to the highest possible standard. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor looking to join a supportive independent business, with a starting
salary basic of £38k
(Negotiations could happen depending on experience)
Job Duties Include:
Carry out thorough inspections of vehicles to accurately assess accident and body damage.
Identify all damage and determine the most appropriate repair methodology.
Prepare accurate repair estimates and ensure all required parts, labour and materials are included.
Use relevant estimating systems to produce detailed and accurate repair calculations.
Liaise with customers to explain vehicle damage, repair requirements and expected timescales.
Communicate with insurance companies, engineers and other relevant parties regarding vehicle repairs.
Ensure repair estimates are completed accurately and submitted within agreed timescales.
Review any additional damage identified during the repair process and update estimates accordingly.
Work closely with the General Manager, technicians and parts team to ensure repairs progress efficiently.
Ensure repairs are planned in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Monitor vehicles throughout the repair process to ensure the agreed repair plan is being followed.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle assessments, estimates and repair authorisations.
Provide professional customer service throughout the repair journey.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a
Vehicle Damage Assessor
,
Estimator
or similar role within the automotive body repair industry.
Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair methods and accident damage assessment.
Experience using vehicle estimating systems such as
Audatex, Solera or GT Motive
would be advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate repair estimates.
Strong understanding of vehicle construction, body repair techniques and replacement parts.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to liaise confidently with customers, insurers, engineers and repair technicians.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vehicles and priorities.
Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a busy bodyshop team.
Full UK Driving Licence.
