We are working closely with a number of fantastic SEND schools and specialist provisions across Islington and are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join our growing team.
Whether you have previous experience in SEND education, care, support work, youth work, or specialist school settings, we would love to hear from you.
✅ The Role
You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Speech & Language Needs
Learning Difficulties
Physical Disabilities
Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH)Responsibilities may include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Assisting pupils in accessing learning activities
Promoting independence and confidence
Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
Helping create a safe and inclusive learning environment
✅ Essential Requirements
Enhanced DBS Certificate
DBS registered on the Update Service
Previous SEND experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for supporting children and young people
⭐ Desirable (But Not Essential)
Experience working within a SEND school
Background in education, care, support work, youth work, or healthcare
Experience with Autism, SEMH, PMLD, MLD, or SLD settings
Relevant qualifications such as Teaching Assistant, Psychology, Education Studies, Health & Social Care, or SEN training
