LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANTS WANTED
SPECIALIST SEND SETTING | ST HELENS | £14+ PER HOUR
Not every SEND role is about sitting in a classroom.
This one is about helping young people learn the skills they'll actually use in everyday life.
We're recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a specialist SEND setting in St Helens, with opportunities to start ASAP.
The setting has a strong focus on independence, employability and preparation for adulthood, with students learning through practical and vocational activities as well as more traditional education.
YOUR DAY COULD INVOLVE:
Working alongside a student in the café and developing customer service skills.
Getting involved in practical workshops and woodwork.
Supporting landscaping and outdoor activities.
Helping with animal care.
Encouraging communication, confidence and independence.
Supporting employability and preparation-for-adulthood activities.
Helping students overcome barriers and achieve goals that are important to them.
This is a role where being willing to get involved really matters. You won't necessarily be behind a desk or in the same classroom every day.
WHO WOULD SUIT THIS ROLE?
You might already work in SEND or education, or you could be coming from a completely different background.

Community support
Working with vulnerable young people
What matters is that you're reliable, patient and comfortable working with young people who may need additional support to communicate, learn and become more independent.

Monday-Friday
8:30am-3:30pm

You'll be joining a setting where progress isn't always measured by grades.
Sometimes it's a student learning to use the café independently, trying something new, developing a work skill, communicating what they need or taking another step towards adulthood.
