We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Wood Machinist to join an established manufacturing business based in East Kilbride.
The company manufactures bespoke panels and components for the retail, hospitality and commercial interiors sectors, working on a wide variety of projects for customers across the UK.
The business operates a 3-axis SCM flat-bed nesting machine with Alphacam used for programming and creating toolpaths. Previous experience with SCM and Alphacam would be preferred.
Candidates from woodworking, shopfitting, furniture, kitchen manufacturing and panel-processing environments would be particularly relevant. However candidates from metalworking or other CNC manufacturing backgrounds will also be considered, provided they have the required flat-bed CNC nesting experience.
Key Responsibilities

Setting and operating a 3-axis CNC flat-bed nesting machine

Producing panels and components accurately to job specifications

Loading and running CNC programmes

Checking tooling and machine set-ups prior to production

Monitoring machining operations and making adjustments where required

Reading and working from technical drawings and production information

Carrying out quality checks on completed components

Working with a range of panel-based materials

Identifying and resolving basic machining and production issue
What We Are Looking For

Have previous experience setting and operating CNC flat-bed nesting machines

Understand CNC tooling, machine set-up and machining processes

Be comfortable loading and running CNC programmes

Be able to work accurately from drawings and job specifications

Be able to monitor machining operations and identify basic issues

Have a strong approach to quality and attention to detail

Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4pm

Permanent day shift

Weekday overtime paid at 1.3x
