The West 2 Area Team covers the geographical areas of Runnymede, Spelthorne and Woking and as a part of the job role you will be expected to travel and case hold across the wider area and support our duty function.
There is an expectation that 2 days per week will be spent in the office. This opportunity is open to registered Social Workers looking to develop experience, remaining closely connected to frontline social work practice within a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment and will involve duty oversight as well long term complex cases.

About the Role
As a Social Worker in Surrey, you will work across various unique projects that ensure that the people we support can enjoy a home of their own, an environment in which they are supported to live a healthy and meaningful lifestyle.
You will be able to supervise less experienced members of staff within the team and support their development. Shortlisting Criteria
In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours:
Professional qualification in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
Successful completion of an Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme if qualified as a social worker after June 2012.
Experience in Social Work, including assessment and risk management skills.
Commitment to your own professional development, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of practice issues.Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK, access to a business insured vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
An enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's and Adults' Barred List checks will be required for this role.

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)

This role is currently employed by Surrey County Council and will remain so until then.
