We’re working with a well-established charitable organisation providing supported housing and community support to adults across Derby.
They are looking for a Housing Support Worker to join their team and provide person-centred support to residents living in supported accommodation.
The RoleYou’ll manage a caseload of around 20–25 residents, supporting them both within the residential service and out in the wider Derby community.
The residents you’ll be supporting may have a range of needs, including homelessness, mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, or experience of the care system.
Your responsibilities of a Housing Support Officer will include:
Managing a caseload of approximately 20–25 residents.
Providing day-to-day, person-centred housing and support.
Supporting residents to bid for properties and work towards moving into suitable accommodation.
Helping residents develop their independence and work towards positive outcomes.
Signposting residents to mental health, substance misuse and other relevant services.
Building positive and professional relationships with residents.
Working alongside other agencies and support services where required.
Working as part of a rota covering days, late shifts and weekends.About You:
We’re looking for someone with experience in supported housing, housing, homelessness, care or a similar support role.
You’ll need to be comfortable working with adults with a range of complex needs, managing a caseload and providing practical support to help people move forward.
The role involves working both on-site and within the community, so a driving licence is likely to be required.
You’ll also need to be able to work the required rota, including evenings and weekends.
An appropriate DBS check will be required, and being registered on the DBS Update Service would be necessary.
