Key Responsibilities of a CMM Inspector:

Operate and programme CMM equipment to inspect precision-engineered components

Create and maintain measurement routines for in-process and final inspection

Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T requirements

Produce dimensional inspection reports and measurement records
-
Carry out calibration and routine maintenance of inspection equipment

Investigate and report non-conformances through NCR processes
-
Support NPI projects and the introduction of new products

Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve quality issues

Ensure measurement systems remain compliant and repeatable
-
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within inspection areas
Key Skills of a CMM Inspector:
-
Previous experience operating and programming CMM equipment
-
Experience with Mitutoyo and/or Aberlink systems desirable

Strong understanding of GD&T

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
-
Experience using micrometers, verniers, thread gauges and other inspection equipment
-
Knowledge of MSA and Gauge R&R principles desirable
-
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
-
Good IT skills and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
