Job Title: Painter & Decorator

Pay: £19.00 per hour PAYE

Job Summary: Fusion People are currently seeking an experienced Painter & Decorator to join a maintenance and refurbishment team carrying out internal decorating works across a secure MOD facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating works within occupied buildings, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Due to the nature of the site, all candidates must be eligible to undergo and pass MOD/security clearance before commencing work.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out internal painting and decorating works across a variety of buildings and facilities
Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, stripping and making good prior to decoration
Apply paint, emulsions, gloss, varnishes and specialist coatings to walls, ceilings, doors and woodwork
Carry out minor repairs to internal finishes where required
Work from drawings, instructions and specifications with minimal supervision
Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe and tidy
Adhere to site health & safety procedures and MOD security requirements
Report defects, material requirements and any issues to the Site Supervisor
Work collaboratively with other maintenance and construction trades on site
Requirements
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Painting & Decorating
Previous experience carrying out internal decorating works within commercial, public sector, defence, healthcare or similar environments
Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation and finishing standards
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Full UK Driving Licence preferred
Eligible to pass security clearance required for an MOD site
