NEOS Engineering Recruitment is working with a well-established and growing plant and equipment hire business that is looking to recruit an experienced Hire Controller for its London operation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Hire Controller to join a successful business with a strong presence across the plant hire and construction equipment industry. The successful candidate will play an important role within the depot, managing customer enquiries, coordinating equipment hires and ensuring customers receive an excellent level of service.
The Role:
As Hire Controller, you will be responsible for managing incoming hire enquiries, producing quotations and processing hire orders. You will work closely with customers to understand their requirements, advise on suitable equipment and coordinate the hire process from initial enquiry through to delivery, collection and off-hire.
You will also liaise closely with the transport, workshop and sales teams to ensure equipment is available and customers are kept updated throughout the hire process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Handling incoming customer hire enquiries
• Producing quotations and processing hire orders
• Advising customers on suitable plant and equipment
• Checking fleet availability and allocating equipment
• Coordinating deliveries and collections
• Managing on-hire and off-hire equipment
• Liaising with transport, workshop and sales teams
• Maintaining accurate records on internal hire systems
• Building strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Following up quotations and maximising hire opportunities
• Resolving customer queries quickly and professionally
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the depot
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within plant hire, tool hire, powered access, construction equipment, material handling or equipment rental.
We would be particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have previously worked as a Hire Controller, Hire Desk Controller, Hire Coordinator, Senior Hire Controller or Hire Desk Manager.
You will need to be organised, commercially minded and confident dealing with customers in a busy, fast-paced hire environment.
The Package:
• £30,000 – £35,000 basic salary
